We were delighted to have Dr. Branch, a pioneer in the field of Humanism in Medicine, as the Brettell Visiting Professor for General Internal Medicine this year. He shared his experiences and observations in relation to humanism spanning his 50 year career over 2 days. Dr. Branch addressed humanism in the era of scientific objectivity, the era of improved patient communication, and the era of wide-spread teaching of communication skills. Additionally he covered the topics of professionalism, appreciative inquiry, well-being, renewal, reflective learning.
